Welcome to Y Capel
London Road, Corwen, Denbighshire
Situated in the centre of Corwen, Y Capel is a converted Welsh Baptist Chapel dating from 1876. Now a family home with two guest rooms available to rent.
The accommodation offers a ground floor lounge with TV and sofa to relax on after a busy day sightseeing. There is also a fridge, kettle and basic breakfast supplies. There are no cooking facilities but the town offers plenty of choice for hot breakfasts and take-aways and there is a supermarket just 100 metres from the front door.
There is Fast Broadband WiFi in the property.
From 1st October 2022 our price will be £50 per night and £35 per night for the additional twin room.
The bedrooms are situated on the first floor, reached by stairs, Y Capel is therefore probably not suitable for those with mobility issues.
Families are welcome but we don’t have facilities such as cots and stair gates for the accommodation and safety of small children.
Well behaved dogs can be accommodated free of charge but should not be left unattended in the property.
Please message us for availability and to book. We have an online calendar which will give you dates rooms are available. We endeavour to keep this up to date so only use it as a guide and email us just to check.
Your hosts
Gordon and Sue O’Neill, have lived in many places but in March 2019 they moved to North Wales and bought Y Capel and moved in mid June 2019.
Sue works part time as a Dental Hygienist and Gordon works from home as a film maker and digital content maker.
They love living in Corwen and exploring the beautiful Dee Valley. Y Capel (The Chapel) is their home but they are delighted to be able to share part of it so others can discover their adopted town and the beautiful countryside around them.
Our Rooms
Our main guest room is at the front of Y Capel (The Chapel) and is a double bedroom with ensuite toilet and shower room. The room has a wardrobe, dressing table plus tea and coffee making facilities.
The guest lounge is situated on the ground floor off the entrance hall. It’s a place where you can relax after a hard days sightseeing. The lounge features a television, fridge with basic breakfast supplies, settee and chairs. You are welcome to bring takeaways back to your lounge, we have provided you with cutlery and crockery. Just leave the dirty dishes in the basket outside your lounge door and we will replace them with fresh, clean ones each day. Across the hall there is a toilet for your exclusive use during your stay. You are also welcome to sit in our hall and read if you desire.
Additional Twin Room.
This room can be booked with the main guest room. It is a twin bedded room with exclusive access to its own bathroom just across the hall. The bathroom features a toilet, bath with shower.
